Course
The Master's Degree in Government, Administration and Territory (GATe), which belongs to the Public Administration Sciences (LM-63) class, offers advanced training in the legal, economic-managerial, political-social-organisational, and mathematical-statistical-informatics fields. This preparation provides a full understanding of the determinants that influence the management and organisation of public administrations.
Predominantly delivered in telematic mode, the course provides specific competences regarding the structure and functioning of public institutions from a multi-level perspective, with a focus both on the organisational and decision-making dimension of administrations and on the relations they have with private actors, with particular attention to the digital transition. In addition, they will acquire specific skills with respect to the process of producing, implementing and evaluating public policies.
These areas of in-depth study provide graduates with a multidisciplinary background for understanding both the functioning mechanisms of administrations in accordance with the principles to which they are called upon to orient their administrative activities, and the relations between public administration and private actors. Graduates know, design and apply models for the management of public and private organisations.
Students will be able to integrate the theoretical and methodological tools provided by the different disciplines in order to understand and govern processes of change and innovation in public and private organisations and complex public policy processes. This ability will also be developed through laboratory-type activities that will enable students to apply this knowledge to problem-solving.
The knowledge acquired is oriented towards both continuous professional and cultural development and scientific training, and forms an important basis for career advancement (life-long learning).
The GATe graduate is thus called upon to perform highly responsible functions of an organisational, managerial and controlling nature. The multidisciplinary skills acquired during the course of study are intended to facilitate the graduate's employment in local, regional, state, European and international organisations, both public and private, or in the third sector, working with the public sector.
GATe avails itself of an extensive Advisory Board, which plays a fundamental role in integrating learners into the dynamics of inter-institutional relations with national, regional and local authorities, and private actors by fostering direct interaction with the professional and institutional world.
